Green Oak Sleeper 2400mm x 200mm x 100mm

Green Oak hardwood sleeper size timber supplied by McVeigh Parker are sourced from across Europe, species Quercus Cerris.  The hardwood properties give them better durability and offer a maintenance-free alternative to softwood treated alternatives.  They are odourless and not cariogenic as reclaimed creosoted sleepers.

They can be used in many applications.  Many are used in landscaping and we always advise that best practice is followed.  Membranes and drainage should be used to extend their life.

Due to timber being a natural product, and as we have no influence on its end use or installation, we do not accept responsibility for any failings.

NEVER line with non-breathable plastic (bags, bin liners, DPM etc) but instead use a breathable membrane, weed suppressant / roof membrane.

For drainage we recommend a backfill with a 10mm shingle behind the sleepers, almost to ground level, and use a perforated pipe for any likely standing/trapped water behind.
