The Australian- designed Wireman range of fencing tools is now available from McVeigh Parker. These innovative fencing tools have been specifically designed and built for professional use in the field.

Founded by an industrial designer and an electrical engineer, The Wireman company set about redesigning the older style walker chain strainers to work with modern materials. In their venture to improve the safety and longevity of fencing tools they have created a range of bespoke innovative products.

Steel fencing wire has moved on over the years, high tensile
being the wire of choice for many professionals, yet fencing tools have failed to keep pace. Over time cast grippers can become worn and slip.

The Wireman Gripper® has been specifically designed to cope with the harder high tensile wire. They are manufactured from a harder grade high tensile BISALLOY® 450 steel which is harder than the wire itself, thus preventing wear and slip over time.

Grippers® can be purchased separately to enable fencers to rejuvenate an old set of walkers or used with the Wireman walkers® which will give you two tools for the price of one. You can strain barbed or plain wire then, by adding straining boards, fabricated netting can be tensioned.

The Wireman Walker® with its chain walking simplicity, hardened steel, clevis hooks, spring-loaded pawls which allow easy fixing, swivel joints which prevent chain twist and stainless-steel finish enable you to fence with confidence for many years. Add a spring tension gauge to monitor over tensioning.

The Wireman Walkers® can be used with Wireman Ender boards® with fitted Grippers® or with the quick release MP straining boards with heights of 1m for stock fence, 1.3m for horse, or 2m for deer fence.

Strain X wire tensioner is the easier and safer way to do precision straining. The lever hoist with its clevis hooks can be used with straining boards to tension fabricated netting. When combined with Grippers® it can strain both barbed and plain wire. Add a
digital tension gauge to meet the manufacturer’s specification.

After various false starts, the DeBarber Mk 2 was created to remove barbs from barbed wire. Initially disparaged, contractors have grown to appreciate how useful it can be to remove safely the odd barb or two when trying to connect barb wire to a strainer post, joining two pieces of barbed wire, using Gripple wire joiners, or just removing that barb which is exactly opposite a slot in a CLIPEX® fence post.

All Walkers and Strain X straining tools come in various configurations. Special kit deals come with a free heavy duty canvas tool bag with each tensioning tool.
