Sales Executive

Location - Worcester Branch

Remuneration: negotiable subject to experience

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sales Executive, you’ll be at the heart of our customer experience—engaging with clients at the trade counter, over the phone and online. You’ll help grow sales, build lasting relationships and ensure every customer leaves satisfied.

Your key responsibilities will include -

  • Preparing and following up on quotations to convert leads into sales
  • Advising customers on product options, upgrades, and value-adds
  • Tracking quotation success rates and identifying missed opportunities
  • Processing orders efficiently and keeping customers informed
  • Reporting competitor pricing to help us stay ahead
  • Maintaining accurate sales records
  • Supporting marketing efforts, including social media updates
  • Collaborating with transport, store, and admin teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Assisting with trade shows and seasonal merchandising

Yard Operative

Location - Cambridgeshire

General duties; Yard & Warehouse operative, This role would suit a person who likes working outdoors, responsible enough to often work unsupervised.

Manual handling is essential in loading customers vehicles and our own delivery fleet.

A knowledge of agricultural and fencing products preferred but not essential, more important is a willingness to learn and operate safely is more important.

Wages subject to experience, Forklift licence preferred, however training can be given.Plenty of opportunity to get trained in other areas and promotion opportunities.

Driver (yard/warehouse as required) 

Vehicle weight range:  7.5-32-ton

Location - Worcestershire

Summary

·         You will be expected to safely deliver the correct products to the correct address on time as planned with the transport manager. 

·         You will be responsible for ensuring the correct quantities of the correct product are loaded in readiness for delivery, this will be checked when loading and marked off on the relevant delivery note/paperwork. This will also need to be signed off with the customer when completing the delivery. If no customer is present when delivering to a site, we would suggest taking a picture showing the bundles and area where left.  

·         Customers should receive a call stating when deliveries will be made and at what time prior to arrival. Questions should be asked regarding any possible access restrictions, narrow bridges, steep access, narrow lanes etc.to avoid potential accidents or hold ups. Confirmation will also need to be given regarding unloading, forklift on site, assistance, where to put if self-unloading.  If self-unloading is required, the load should be strapped when loaded to reduce the need to climb on the vehicle when lone working. 

·         You may be responsible for holding a set of keys to enable you to leave the yard at your time of choosing to reduce hold ups on busy roads. Ideally your vehicle will be loaded in the evening prior.

·         You may be trained to drive a forklift truck to assist with the loading of your vehicle, you will be always responsible for your load and vehicle, including the loading process, to ensure you are confident the load is safe to travel.

·         You must ensure vehicle checks are completed as per company policies and legal requirements.

·         You must ensure legal requirements (weight, speed etc) are always adhered to.

·         You will be expected to ensure excellent customer service is achieved and company standards are met / exceeded.

·         You will assist with identifying new/potential customers and feed back to your manager.

·         You will ensure vehicle fleet appearance is well maintained and the vehicle is clean and tidy to present a professional image to our customers. 


·         You may be asked to assist with planning your route, if you have any concerns these must be discussed with the transport manager. 

·         You will be expected to drive within the legal requirements, your driver card will be processed monthly/fortnightly, and you will have to explain any infringements that may have arisen and sign the appropriate form.

Other duties:

Yard/warehouse 

·         Goods in: unload deliveries, ensure correct quantities are received and in good condition. Ensure delivery notes/paperwork are handled correctly.

·         Goods out: loading vehicles, ensuring loads are safe, checking quantities are correct and paperwork is complete. 

·         Assisting yard staff: to ensure yard is tidy and products stored in safe and correct position.

·         Customer service: loading customers vehicles, assisting with sales shop (if required), yard & phone.

·         Cover/support: you may be required to cover other roles in the branch when needed.

Personal Requirements 

·         You will need to be physically fit as the position will require manual handling and be willing to work outside in all conditions as and when required.

·         The ability to drive a 7.5-32-ton vehicle, hold a clean and current LGV Category C licence driving licence.

·         A positive and forward-thinking attitude towards work, with strong emphasis towards teamwork within the company.

Key Account Manager (Sales)

Location: Scotland

We are seeking a dynamic Key Account Manager to join our team at McVeigh Parker. This role is responsible for managing and developing relationships with our most important clients, ensuring their needs are met while driving sales growth.

Transport Manager

Location: Worcestershire

Responsibilities -  

  • Collating the orders that are ready for dispatch into delivery areas depending on weight, volume, and any time constraints that may apply.
  • Ensure the right vehicle for the task is used, to make the load as economical as possible.
  • Liaise with Drivers re extra work hours i.e., early starts / late finishes.
  • Organize and book orders to be sent out by Pallet Carrier and organize orders to be sent out via post / parcel.
  • Ensure we have fuel in our depot tanks and reorder as needed.
  • Check loads before loading, rectifying any problems where necessary.
  • Liaise with the Yard Supervisor about picking deliveries for the next day.
  • Sort out any problems arising from the day’s deliveries.
  • Ensure our customers have been called to make them aware their delivery is on its way.

Legally important tasks which MUST be adhered to wherever relevant -  

  • Ensure all relevant vehicles (above 3.5T) are sent for their 6-week PMI inspections on time and booked in for MOT when needed annually.
  • Ensure that those inspections also include a brake test, and that all the reports are stored in depot to prove the inspections have been completed correctly.
  • Be responsible for all forklift servicing and repairs.
  • Organise annual LOLER and safety checks for Moffetts and Cranes.
  • Ensure any vehicle defects that drivers have flagged up are rectified as soon as possible and signed off by the ‘Transport Manager’.
  • Check that any invoices from repairing contractors are correct for the work that has been carried out.
  • Ensure that all Tachographs are in calibration as per legal requirements.
  • Keep drivers up to date with any changes in Tachograph laws, driving time legislation, and changes in the highway code.
  • Download driver’s Tachograph cards and vehicle units as per legal requirements and ensure the data is saved on the server.
  • Check drivers’ licenses for infringements etc. and that they are booked on to Drivers CPC courses as required.
  • Report any accidents or Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) checks to the company Logistics Manager, or Chris Hambridge, CEO.
  • Inform the Logistics Manager about any hire vehicles etc. which need adding to our insurance.
  • Liaise with the company Logistics Manager keeping up to date with current company policies and new legislation, inform drivers of any changes in Company Policy and new legislation.
  • Ensure that records of all relevant tasks are maintained, kept legible and up to date, and made available for inspection.
