Only the finest high-grade iron ore is used in the manufacture of the original X fence. The wire comes from a world-leading processing plant and is then twice coated with Xtralife Zinc/Aluminium in a gas wipe process that ensures a smooth even spread and industry leading corrosion resistance. X fence has a 24% stronger forged X knot and can have 3 times longer life than standard zinc coated wire. We believe it is the best netting on the market.

95% Zinc plus 5% aluminium, provides a protective barrier over the wire because it corrodes much more slowly than base metal and when it does corrode, it forms a white oxide protective layer on the surface. The zinc in the XTRALIFE coating will protect even after the wire is damaged. The Zinc is more reactive than steel and so the elements that cause corrosion attack the zinc first. The coating makes the wire more ductile, easier to work, resists cracking when tying off and gives a smooth animal friendly abrasive-free that can last up to three times longer than standard zinc coated wire.
