Recently, McVeigh Parker products were chosen to help assist in a project commissioned by the local council to Surrey based fencing contractor and McVeigh Parker customer James Rochez-Maggs from Countryside Contracts.  The aim of the project was to restrict vehicular access to a village green without adding unsightly measures imposing on the scenery.

A variety of solutions were put in place including the planting of 85 trees, all protected with tree guards built from McVeigh Parker welded mesh to add protection from any local wildlife.

McVeigh Parker stock a wide range of welded mesh, from galvanised steel, to PVC coated options.  The galvanised steel is galvanised to BS443 and is welded electronically at every intersection for added strength.  Both 2.5mm and 3.0mm wire gauges are available, in a selection of roll lengths, heights and mesh patterns.  Shop our range of galvanised welded mesh.

Another project commissioned by Guildford Council was for the installation of a kissing gate.  The site is a copse of woodland that is a regular cut through, and historically it had a timber stile in situ to allow only access on foot.  This deteriorated over time meaning access was open - which led to residents wheel barrowing garden waste etc into the woods and dumping it.  A new kissing gate supplied by McVeigh Parker was installed which still allowed pedestrian access yet restricted access of wheelbarrows tackling the issue head on.

Kissing gates are often used in rural areas and in more recent years are available in a number of designs including mobility friendly extra-large options specifically designed with mobility vehicle users in mind.  View our range of Right of Way gates (ROW gates) online.
