Our Badger Gates have been designed to allow badgers to pass freely through fences without causing damage. Badgers often use set routes within their territory, if a stock or deer fence is put up across a badger run, they will either dig under the fence, or attempt to break through. Either way, this causes damage to the fence and may let other animals through. Our Badger Gates will solve this problem.
Features -
Features a strong pre-drilled angle frame to tie off badger net, Rabbit netting or line wires. Opening is approx. 225 x 270mm (actual frame 420 x 755mm). The fully meshed door gives visible access which encourages the Badgers to push through.
Frequently Asked Questions -
Are there specific times when badger gates should be installed if you're planning to close a sett?
Yes, there are strict seasonal guidelines for installing badger gates and closing setts. You must obtain a licence from a regulatory authority such as Natural England. Work involving sett closure—typically using one-way gates to exclude badgers—is generally permitted between July and the end of October or November, to avoid disturbing the breeding season. Additionally, any artificial sett intended to replace the original must be established and in use for at least six months before the original sett is closed.
Can I install a badger gate in a fence line?
Yes. Two-way badger gates can be installed in fence lines, ideally along established badger pathways. This allows badgers to pass through freely and helps prevent damage to newly erected fencing.
