Clipex - Not Just Any Steel Post

Clipex® is the multi-award winning innovative galvanised steel post.

  • Each post has pre-fixed clips designed to take all the horizontal wires of your chosen wire netting.
  • Each wire is held firmly in place with a spring-loaded clip, no fiddly parts to lose or fit after erection. These clips allow lateral flex, but very little vertical wire movement can happen, which is important when livestock start putting pressure on the fence.
  • Each post has a pre-fixed anti-lift plate below ground level to prevent lifting in soft or undulating ground.
  • Hot dip galvanised and independently tested in the UK, exceeding British Standard coating recommendations.

The Benefits of Clipex

TIME is the most valuable resource we have; Clipex® posts are guaranteed to give you more of it. Fencing can be erected in half and in some cases a third of the time of traditional fencing methods.

STRONGER Clipex® posts show a new strength to weight design. They are made with minimum 450-grade high tensile steel, whilst keeping great elongation properties. All our Clipex® posts feature a backing plate at ground level, to give the posts strength where it matters most.

EASIER Clipex® is so simple to understand, it does not require specialist tools or experienced tradesmen. Push the wire into the clip and it’s attached, even children understand it, it’s that simple. Clipex’s® unique Dacromet clip saves hours stapling and requires less time bent down fixing bottom wires. The unique Clipex® post design drives into almost any soil type with ease.

MAINTENANCE All fences require maintenance in their life. Clipex® fencing reduces this maintenance drastically. The Clipex® fence solution retains the wire but does not restrict it, allowing the wire to take the strain. Should your wire need to be restrained it’s a simple matter of un-clipping, straining and then re-clipping. You can easily replace any damaged sections of fence just as easily as when you installed them. Clipex® post can also be used in an emergency quick fix or to bolster up failing fences.

Post Strength and Specification

Clipex Eco Post

The Clipex ® Eco post has been specifically designed as an entry level post to suit the most popular hinge jointed stock fence, plain or barbed line wire applications. Eco posts have been designed to suit hinge jointed 8-80-15 or 8-80-30 products with two rows of barbed or plain wire. The clips may suit some other fence patterns. Manufactured from high tensile steel with a 600g/m ² galvanised coating which ensures a longer life. Note: Please check mesh pattern against posts BEFORE installation, especially important if you are trying to match your own netting.

Clipex Standard Post

The Clipex ® Eco post has been specifically designed as an entry level post to suit the most popular hinge jointed stock fence, plain or barbed line wire applications. Eco posts have been designed to suit hinge jointed 8-80-15 or 8-80-30 products with two rows of barbed or plain wire. The clips may suit some other fence patterns. Manufactured from high tensile steel with a 600g/m ² galvanised coating which ensures a longer life. Note: Please check mesh pattern against posts BEFORE installation, especially important if you are trying to match your own netting.

Clipex Beefy Light Post

The Beefy Light Clipex post has a 3mm thick profile and is suitable for sheep fencing or placement against hedgerows for those looking to add a little strength to their fence.  Subject to containment/exclusion type, these can be used solely or as a combination of Clipex standards and Beefy light or a one to four ratio.

The post is 2m long and features 11 clips.  If is compatible with X fence 8/80/15, 8/80/22 and 8/80/30 wire mesh patterns.   All eight lines of wire netting will be clipped to the eleven clip post with two rows of barbed, electric or plain above plus one row of plain or barbed wire as the base line.  For specific Clipex® post spacing information, scroll down the page and take a look at our Clipex® Post Spacings PDF.

We would always recommend using the heavier Beef 3.5mm thick Beefy Posts for dividing paddocks, or those fencing in cattle or larger animals for containment or exclusion, as this thicker gauge has been fully tried and tested for over 10 years.

Clipex Beefy Post

The Clipex ® Beefy post is specifically designed to add ground holding and strength to your fence line where it matters. It has a thicker profile than the Standard and Eco posts which gives it an increased surface area in the ground, as well as reducing any twisting. The increased profile also improves the lateral strength. The Beefy posts have a better strength to weight ratio with 60% greater surface area providing 230% more strength than smaller profile posts. This along with the 600g/m ² galvanised zinc coating, anti-lift plate, thicker gauge, high tensile steel and longer length make the Beefy an unbeatably strong and durable post. When should you use a Beefy post? We recommend their use in softer soils, high stock pressure areas, dividing paddocks, and peaks and troughs in undulating ground, as well as slight changes in a fence line of less than 15°. You can also combine with a Beefy bracket and strut for a cost effective angled support. A combination of Standards and a Beefy every third or fourth post will strengthen your fence line. Or you can use all Beefy posts to provide a strong formidable, long-lasting fence that will offer many years of maintenance-free life.
