• Chestnut

  This is a traditional and durable type of fence construction that uses cleft (split) chestnut of irregular shapes which give it a unique handcrafted rustic appearance. Produced from sustainable coppiced UK woodlands. For those looking for a more symmetrical appearance combine sawn morticed posts with cleft rails. Rails - 2.7m x irregular profile of approx. 325-350mm girth , scarf ended. Chestnut Posts – 2.0m x 180-210mm cleft face, twin morticed to suit two or three rail. Chestnut 2.1m x 125mm x 100mm, twin morticed to suit two or three rail. Sawn treated.

  Sawn (Motorway) Post & Rail Sawn finish timber most commonly seen along motorways. Rails - 3.60m x 88mm or 100mm x 38mm or 47mm profile Posts – 1.8m, 2.1m, 2.4m x 125mm or 150mm x 75mm, four way pointed Available in pressure treated green, Pressure creosoted and DURA² (in select sizes) UC4 pine for all in ground contact timber.

• Stud Rail

  Stud rail has long been used in the equestrian world as an ideal alternative to timber post and rail fencing. It is perfect for many agricultural and farm fencing needs. Once erected and strained up, stud rail fencing requires minimal upkeep and looks good for years. The rail is extruded from PVC with two strands of 2.5mm high tensile galvanised wire, moulded into the outer edges. Our stud rail comes in either brown or white. The range also includes stud rail clamps and stud rail roll. Stud rail fencing is attached to the brackets on the posts, allowing the fence to flex and slide under pressure, preventing injury to horse or damage to the fence. It can be easily moved, so is ideal for temporary paddock fencing. It can also be used as a top rail in conjunction with Equi-fence.

  Clipex® is the multi-award winning innovative galvanised steel post. Each post has pre-fixed clips which are designed to take all the horizontal wires of your chosen X Fence wire netting.  Each wire is held firmly in place with a spring-loaded clip, meaning there are no fiddly parts to lose or fit after erection. These clips allow lateral flex, but very little vertical wire movement can happen, which is important when livestock start putting pressure on the fence.  Each post has a pre-fixed anti-lift plate below ground level to prevent lifting in soft or undulating ground. Clipex posts are hot dip galvanised and independently tested in the UK, exceeding British Standard coating recommendations.

  For equine fencing we recommend the Clipex Cattle/Railway post.  It is a 2.0m long 13 clip post, designed to suit the X Fence premium XHT11-122-7.5 horse netting. All eleven lines will be clipped with one top row of barbed, electric or plain wire plus one row of plain or barbed wire as a base line.

  Triple X Strainers have been designed by McVeigh Parker and are proven in the field throughout the UK. Used by contractors, utility companies, farmers and landowners for stock, deer and security fencing. Our British made strainers are a very good alternative to more traditional timber strainers, lasting much longer and saving significant installation and labour time.   McVeigh Parker stock a range of electric fence energisers including battery powered, mains and solar energisers for your electric fence. Our electrical power units are suitable for fencing livestock including horses and cattle in fields or paddocks. Our electric fence energisers are sturdy and easily transportable; suitable for long-term use outside. Solar panel fence energisers are powerful, with an integrated solar panel and battery, and some models come supplied with a seven-year premium warranty.,

Our range of horse gates include both metal and timber options with our timber horse gates also offering a reinforced heavy top and bottom rail option for added strength. All timber horse gates are semi-planed finish and feature galvanised fittings to provide a long lasting life. We also stock a range of bridle gates allowing easy access for horse and rider. The all in one H frame design of the metal gates make installation very easy, it also prevents future movement, reducing any future maintenance. 

Bridle gates

Bridle paths and bridleways often require specialist gates to ensure the safety of both horse and rider, as well as the safety of your livestock or protection of your crop. If your land has right of way access including bridleway access (or access to cyclists), then our bridle gates are perfect for keeping users safe and allowing easy access whilst preventing free roaming! Our bridle gates are made of quality galvanised steel to prevent rust or unnecessary wear and tear. Included in our range is a self-closing bridle gate designed to allow safe and easy passage (particularly for those horses who aren’t so happy to stand around whilst you close the gate!) as well as a two-way opening gate model. All of our models have the option of an extended handle which provides an easy way to open the gate on horseback.

Horse friendly gate fittings

Our equine latches benefit both horse and rider. The Animal friendly Auto latch with D striker is built with no sharp points to protect horses and livestock and includes all fixings to attach to a wooden post and wooden gate. We also supply the popular Easy latch gate fitting. This specialised latch operates in conjunction with self-closing gate systems and are designed to be easily accessible for all including riders on horseback.
